高瀬川モニタリング部のつくりかた
この度、高瀬川モニタリング部は３年間の活動と、そこから見えてきた高瀬川の生態系と独自の観察方法をNEUTRALで展示します。
京都の街を北から南に走る人口河川の高瀬川。約400年の歴史を持ち、今も流れ続けています。そんな高瀬川に集まる「いきもの」たちにフォーカスをあて観察を行うのが「高瀬川モニタリング部」です。2022年より活動を開始し、多様な視点で高瀬川でのフィールドワークを行なってきました。
今展では様々な人たちの目を借りて観察してきた高瀬川について、共に考えてもらう部室のような空間でお待ちしています。高瀬川への新しい視座が芽生えることに期待しています。高瀬川モニタリング部は、３年間の活動と、そこから見えてきた高瀬川の生態系と独自の観察方法を展示します。

高瀬川モニタリング部
1614年に京都の豪商、角倉了以（すみのくらりょうい）らによって開削された高瀬川。高瀬舟が通った運河は、水路として今も京都の街を流れています。そんな高瀬川を覗いてみると、実はさまざまな「いきもの」に出会えます。この「いきもの」たちの世界を覗きみることで高瀬川の昔と今、そしてこれからについて考えてみる部活動です。

The Takase River Monitoring Club

The Takase River Monitoring Club is pleased to present an exhibition at NEUTRAL showcasing three years of our activities, the ecosystem of the Takase River as revealed through our work, and our unique observation methods.
The Takase River is an artificial waterway that runs from north to south through the city of Kyoto. With a history spanning approximately 400 years, it continues to flow to this day. The Takase River Monitoring Club focuses on observing the “living creatures” that gather along this river. Since beginning its activities in 2022, the group has conducted fieldwork along the Takase River from diverse perspectives.
For this exhibition, we invite you to a space designed like a clubroom where we can reflect together on the Takase River, as observed through the eyes of various people. We hope this will spark new perspectives on the Takase River. The Takase River Monitoring Group will present its three years of activities, the ecosystem of the Takase River revealed through them, and its unique observation methods.
